Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float; may float to other Med Surg units, ER holds occasionally (no mom/baby unit)
• If floating to telemetry unit, a telemetry RN will handle strip interpretation
• Unit has 31 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit at a 1:8 ratio
• Charge nurse present on each shift as a resource for both shifts
• Telemetry/monitor techs available on unit; RNs not required to read and interpret strips
• Common patient diagnoses include adults and geriatrics, strokes, HTN, COPD, cellulitis, CHF, A-fib non-RVR, chest pain, MI after ICU, AMS/behavioral, oncology, and surgical overflow
• RNs required to titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin
• Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred but not required; BiPAP stable and established trachs with blow-by oxygen
• Oncology experience required; core staff to administer chemotherapy
• No specific scrub color required
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Michigan nursing license required
