PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 8-bed observation unit with 1:4 patient ratio and 2 RNs per shift
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI
• Administer drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges with average patient stay up to 48 hours
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips and will complete an EKG exam during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS (ARC or AHA accepted)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; unit may low census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Candidate must be a hard worker, resilient, and manage change well; able to work independently, complete tasks timely, and collaborate with team and ancillary staff
• Positive attitude and flexibility with constant changes throughout a shift required
• Traveler must reside outside 50 miles from the facility
