RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Medical Surgical unit with a bed size of 34
• Patient population includes orthopedics and total joint replacements
• Cardiac drips and specific cardiac IV/intravenous push medications may be administered
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:6
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Weekend schedule: Every other or every 3rd weekend depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Scrubs: Navy blue solids required
• 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Orthopedic/Rehab experience required
• Experience with total joint replacement and braces required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience administering cardiac-specific IV/intravenous push medications highly preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
