CVOR Technologist Job in Paducah, KY

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a CVOR Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Paducah, Kentucky. This is an 8-hour shift role with a Monday through Friday schedule, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, plus on-call duties every other day and every other weekend.

Your Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures in the cardiovascular operating room
• Scrub into cases and ensure instruments and supplies are available for all scheduled procedures
• Set up cases with thorough sterilization of all instruments and maintain sterile field throughout case setup
• Alert the circulating nurse of any identified risks or variances from standard operating procedures
• Pass instruments and assist the physician as needed during surgical cases
• Assist with cutting suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps under direct surgeon supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts throughout all procedures
• Assist with draping and patient positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN
• Complete post-case cleaning, including gross decontamination of instruments and breaking down instruments for Central Sterile Processing
• Follow all standards for instrument transport and return to Central Sterile
• Notify appropriate leadership of any damaged instruments at end of case
• Ensure the surgical suite is disinfected and fully stocked for the next procedure

Requirements:

• Allied Health Professional credential
• Completion of all mandatory education and compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
• Adherence to all safe practices in the OR and completion of age-specific annual competency assessments
