Med Surg RN Job in Prescott, AZ

You will work as a registered nurse on a 48-bed Med Surg unit across two units (4A and 4B) at Yavapai Regional Medical Center – West in Prescott, Arizona. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,229.12.

Shift Details

• 3x12 night shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• No on-call or standby obligations

Unit Specifics

• 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Charge nurse on duty without patient assignment and house supervisor available
• Nurse aides on the unit at 1:10–15 ratio
• First-to-float role with potential floating to East Campus and PCU if qualified

Patient Population & Clinical Requirements

You will care for patients with respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, and general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical diagnoses. You must be able to read and interpret basic telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift. Telemetry is monitored remotely by monitor techs on the 3rd floor. Drip titration is not required; medications such as Diltiazem are administered at a set rate. Equipment used includes BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and breathing treatments.

Scheduling & Requirements

• Self-scheduling with schedules made 4 weeks in advance and finalized by manager
• Holiday requirements include working a combination of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving Day
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Cerner experience recommended; only 1 shift of unit orientation provided
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
