Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday only with shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
• Outpatient setting only with no on-call requirements
• Administer daily prescribed doses of radiation therapy treatments using advanced level linear accelerators, Tomotherapy treatment units, or proton therapy units
• Simulate patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions provided by radiation oncologists
• Record and verify treatment software accurately
• Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription
• Follow principles of radiation protection for patients, self, and others utilizing appropriate health and safety equipment
• Educate, prepare, and reassure patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors
• Contribute to the training of radiation therapy students
• Demonstrate continued professional growth through goal setting and participation in educational offerings
• Minimum of a couple of years of experience working on a treatment machine treating patients required
