CVICU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Columbia, SC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 12, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, days
• Patient ratio: 1:2
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Self-scheduling available
• Unit size: 12 beds with daily census of 10
• Adult patients only

Clinical Focus

You will care for post-cardiothoracic surgical patients and complex vascular patients with extensive comorbidities. Patient populations include those recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair, aortic dissection, carotid endarterectomy, lobectomy, and mediastinoscopy.

Equipment & Skills

You will work with advanced devices including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Centrimag, VAD, and pulmonary artery catheters. Required clinical skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, ECMO care, IABP support, Impella management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, pulmonary artery line and Swan Ganz monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT, epicardial pacing wire care, and dysrhythmia management.

Support & Resources

Interdisciplinary support is available through IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Minimum 1 year EPIC EMR experience
• Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Compensation & Details

Weekly pay: $1,995.84. Scrub color: Green.
