About this role

You'll join the University of North Carolina Health Care System as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg, providing direct patient care in a hospital setting. This is a 96-week travel position with a start date of June 8, 2026, paying $2,095.92 weekly on a 3x12 rotating shift schedule.

Your Role

You'll work in an IC/Med/Surg/Tele unit using the Epic electronic health record system. Your responsibilities include performing patient assessments that address physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, then organizing and prioritizing care according to patient and family needs. You'll demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems and perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by care plans.

Clinical Duties

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update care plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and evaluation of patient care
  • Assess discharge needs and promote continuity of care
  • Report to and be accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Participate in professional development and education programs

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
  • One year of nursing experience required
  • BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing preferred
