ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend scheduling required
• May float to PCU, 3rd floor, or ED
• 10-bed ICU unit with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Kentucky or compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and current NIH stroke certification (must be certified annually)
• Required skills: CPap and BiPap management, port access, and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Preferred advanced skills: chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, blood transfusion, and ventilator management
• Procedures performed on unit include telemetry monitoring, paracentesis (physician led), BiPap, and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Equipment utilized includes Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, ventilators, and glucometer
• Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
• Unit staffing includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNC), RNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs
• Required dress code: Navy or gray scrubs
