RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week assignment duration
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
• Patient ratio 1:4 for days/weekends and 1:5 for nights
• 26-bed unit caring for patients with respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Required certifications: BLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must have Virginia nursing license in-hand by Wednesday before start date
• Required skills include chest tubes, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, telemetry, tracheostomy care, and wound care
• Work with specialized equipment including lift equipment, HOVER mats, chest tubes, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and wound vacs
• 24-hour orientation with up to 16 hours of non-billable modules
• Guaranteed up to 40 hours of requested time off per contract
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
