Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
• Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no weekends or holidays
• Sleep experience preferred
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory diseases and conditions
• Deliver medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by providers
• Provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure
• Respond to emergency situations throughout the facility including code blue and rapid response situations
• Provide appropriate patient support in high-risk delivery situations including care of compromised newborns
• Perform airway management including care and maintenance of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
• Assess and monitor patients on invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support and adjust parameters as needed
• Perform and assist with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line, and bronchoscopy
• Administer provider-prescribed medicated therapy including small volume nebulizer and meter dose inhaler treatments
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as chest physiotherapy, oscillating positive expiratory pressure, and positive expiratory pressure
• Provide and adjust oxygen therapy based on patient needs and provider orders
• Complete patient assessments and provide appropriate recommendations to providers
• Educate patients and families on therapy, respiratory disease, and medications
• Complete pulmonary function testing, neurodiagnostic studies, and cardiac testing including 12-lead electrocardiogram and holter monitoring
• Perform arterial and capillary blood gas sampling and interpret laboratory results
• Complete and document oximetry studies
• Document patient assessments, therapy, and pertinent information in the medical record
• Clean, prepare, and ensure proper functioning of departmental equipment including mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas delivery devices
• Participate in quality improvement projects, departmental meetings, and ongoing facility processes
