ED RN Job in Bismarck, ND

CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This 91-day assignment begins May 18, 2026, and offers 3x12-hour day shifts at $2,286.36 weekly.

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with varied start times (7a–7p, 9a–9p, 11a–11p, 2p–2a, 7p–7a). Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• Patient Care: You will treat 50–60 patients per day, primarily ESI Level 3 and Level 4 acuity with rare Level 1 presentations. Patient ratios range from 1:3–4 based on acuity, possibly 1:5 when boarding patients are grouped. You will care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, including traumas, CAH transfers, strokes, STEMIs, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain.
• Clinical Responsibilities: Manage common drips including vasopressors, heparin, and antiarrhythmics. Read and interpret telemetry strips with MD verification. Draw labs and perform IV starts with phlebotomy available as a resource.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Orientation: 1–2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided. Manager interview and profile review are required.
• System & Policies: EPIC charting system. Any color scrubs allowed. Rare floating may occur due to census and staffing needs.
• Contract Terms: RTO (return to overtime) required upfront; 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Cancellation policy allows 4 shifts per full contract or 3 shifts if under 13 weeks.

BSN not required. Previous travel experience preferred but not required for first-time travelers.
