Telemetry RN Job in Lafayette, LA

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 24-bed Telemetry unit. You will work 3x12 night shifts on a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 25, 2026.

Your Role:

• Provide direct care to medical telemetry, post-cardiac catheterization, and cardiac drip patients
• Manage a patient ratio of 6:1 across all shifts and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, diabetes, COPD exacerbations, stroke, hypertension, arrhythmias, and wound infections
• Perform pre- and post-angiogram/angioplasty care, assist with pacemaker and AICD procedures, and support general surgical procedures
• Operate telemetry monitoring equipment, manage chest tubes and wound vacs
• Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin
• Perform bedside sheath pulling procedures
• Float to other inpatient units as needed
• Work every other holiday with weekend coverage required

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years acute care and telemetry experience
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• ACLS and NIH certifications preferred
• Must be located more than 65 miles from the facility

You will complete 12 hours of orientation. Weekly pay is $2,172.60. Relocation assistance and housing support available for qualifying candidates.
