RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in Medical Telemetry unit with post cardiac catheterization patients and cardiac drip management
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday
• Agency nurses are first to be pulled to other inpatient units
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Must have 2 years of acute care experience and telemetry experience
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: BLS, with ACLS and NIH preferred
• Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
• NURSYS reports must be submitted with profile and updated within 4 weeks
• Work with cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin
• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care, sheath pulling at bedside
• Manage patients with chest pain, CAD, diabetes, COPD, arrhythmias, and post-surgical cases
• Use specialized equipment including telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• No call-ins permitted - strict attendance policy enforced
