About this role
WVU Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Cath Lab. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 29, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,773.44.
Role Overview
You will work as part of a 3-person cath lab team consisting of 2 RNs and 1 technician. Your responsibilities include administering medications, serving as circulator and monitor, and supporting interventional procedures for adult patients. You will perform an average of 4–5 cases per day, with a range of 2–9 cases depending on volume.
Schedule
You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours on days (specific shift details to be confirmed upon placement). Additionally, you will participate in 10–11 call shifts per month, including weekend and holiday rotation coverage.
Procedures and Scope
The cath lab performs peripheral interventions, cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and device procedures. You will support ICD and pacemaker implantations. Ablation and electrophysiology cases are not part of this role. Cardiology support is available 24/7 on-call. You may occasionally be floated to Non-Invasive Cardiovascular services to initiate IV access.
Technical Environment
The lab uses EPIC (Cupid) with Xper dynamics for charting and the Philips hardwired telemetry system at bedside. Pharmacy support includes Omnicell dispensing with certain medications prepared on-site. Familiarity with the ACIST injector is preferred; experience with IABP and IVUS is required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Current RN license
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience
- ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- BSN not required
Scrubs are provided; RNs wear Navy Blue. This is an acute care setting with on-site support and collaborative teamwork.
