ED RN Job in Wichita, KS

You will work as a registered nurse in a 52-bed emergency department at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. This is a travel assignment with a 91-day duration, starting June 29, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (nights)

Clinical Environment

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. Patient ratios are 3:1 on average, with 5:1 for low-acuity patients. Pediatric cases use team nursing. The night pod includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts, medication administration, and patient sedations
• Provide pediatric emergency care
• Scan patients and medications per unit policy
• Work independently and adapt to changing patient acuity

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kansas
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and NIH certifications
• Travel nursing experience or prior work in large facility settings
• Ability to maintain composure in a high-volume emergency department

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC certification
• Previous Meditech EMR experience
• Experience in 52-bed or larger emergency departments

Equipment and Systems

You will use Alaris infusion equipment and the Meditech electronic medical record system.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,708.20.
