About this role

St Josephs Medical Center is seeking an RN for the Electrophysiology Lab in Stockton, California. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 20, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $3,369.60.

Schedule and Expectations

  • Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend schedule required
  • One night of call per week with a day off following call
  • Weekend call every 6th weekend with occasional Saturday cases
  • Call response time of 30 minutes or less
  • No floating required; no holiday call requirements
  • Hospital-provided scrubs

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-procedure assessments including vital signs, allergies, labs, and patient history
  • Educate patients and obtain informed consent
  • Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient response throughout procedures
  • Maintain sterile field and assist with catheter insertion
  • Monitor cardiac rhythm, hemodynamics, and patient status continuously
  • Provide post-procedure recovery care, including monitoring for complications and assessing access sites
  • Accurately document assessments, medications, interventions, and outcomes in Cerner EMR
  • Respond to code situations including ACLS during cardiac arrest or rapid decompensation
  • Coordinate with cardiologists, technicians, anesthesia, and support staff

Equipment and Technology

The facility operates 4 suites/labs averaging 15–20 cases per day. You will work with laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, and Angio Jet equipment, as well as Philips and Siemens imaging systems. Ventilator experience is required; respiratory therapy support is available in the room.

Requirements

  • Current RN license valid in California
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Experience with peripheral and coronary circulation
  • Comfort working with critically ill patients
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; no first-time travelers accepted
  • Experience with Merge Hemo system is a bonus
  • BSN not required
