Pediatrics RN Job in Bloomington, IN

IU Health Bloomington Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Medical Surgical unit. You will work 2x12 night shifts with a 1:3 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends on a licensed 5-bed unit that can expand to 9 beds as needed.

In this role, you will provide care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients. Your responsibilities include outpatient infusions and lab draws during daytime hours, administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, and asthma care. You will manage central lines, peripheral lines, and implanted lines; perform pediatric dosage calculations; insert and manage NG tubes; deliver oxygen therapy; and assess and care for wounds.

Common patient diagnoses include respiratory conditions requiring high-flow support, abdominal surgeries such as gallbladder and appendectomy, ENT surgeries, rule-out sepsis in hemodynamically stable patients, rhabdomyolysis, BRUE, pyelonephritis, UTI, febrile seizures, growth faltering, hyperbilirubinemia, syncope, and gynecology cases.

Key Position Features:

• Self-scheduling with every third weekend required
• No call requirements and no floating to other units
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience required; first-time travelers welcome

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Cerner charting system experience

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, rapid response teams, and transportation services.

This position is not available to Indiana residents. Assignment length is 91 days, with a start date of November 17, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,316.
