Clinical Laboratory Scientist Job in Arcata, CA

Mad River Community Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join its medical laboratory team on a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 8, 2026. You will work as a generalist across multiple laboratory departments, providing essential diagnostic support to patient care.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical laboratory testing across multiple departments as a generalist CLS
• Demonstrate strong blood banking knowledge and apply recent hands-on experience in transfusion medicine
• Operate and troubleshoot the Harvest Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Execute proficiency in generalist laboratory functions with attention to accuracy and quality standards
• Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards

Requirements:

• Current California CLS or MLS license (required)
• TB clearance dated within the past 12 months
• Recent clinical laboratory experience with demonstrated blood banking competency
• Ability to function effectively across multiple laboratory sections
