PCU RN Job in Albany, GA

Join Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll provide direct patient care in a 44-bed cardiac stepdown setting, managing a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio while supporting post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients, CHF cases, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, and various cardiac procedures.

Position Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• 119-day assignment beginning May 11, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,181.24

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and heparin
• Provide respiratory support with BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen devices
• Handle fast room turnover with 12–16 admissions and discharges per shift on busy days
• Float to ICU when needed for stepdown patient support or additional assistance if you have ICU experience
• Chart using the MEDITECH system

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry
• Must reside 75 or more miles from the facility (driver's license verification required)
• Flexibility to work holidays and surrounding days as needed

• Floor-specific orientation of 3 shifts
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours off every 2 weeks
