ED RN Job in Garden City, Kansas

You will work as a registered nurse in an emergency department float pool covering a 60-mile radius zone around Garden City, Kansas. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Assignment Details

• Float within Zone 4 to three different facilities with no single home base
• Float assignments communicated on or before Monday start date each week
• You are responsible for securing housing that accommodates floating across the full 60-mile service area
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 depending on acuity
• Patient volume ranges from 6 to 49 per shift depending on facility location

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage common emergency diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Perform point-of-care lab testing
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Administer standard emergency medications and operate equipment
• Chart in EPIC system

Requirements and Certifications

• Current RN license (active in Kansas)
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to complete 2–3 days of unit-specific orientation on-site before assignment start
• Must be physically present in Kansas during orientation week
• Navy blue scrubs required

Compensation and Terms

• Weekly pay: $2,384.64
• Assignment duration: 91 days

• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment period
