PCU Registered Nurse Job in Lima, Ohio

Lima Memorial Main Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the night shift. This is a temporary position offering 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with a start date of June 30, 2026, and a duration of 91 days. You will earn $2,177.28 per week.

Role Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during your shift
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using age-specific criteria
• Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff including LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
• Work every other weekend with no on-call responsibilities
• Float to all units within your skill level as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of nursing experience
• Post-operative open heart care experience
• Chest tube and other drain management experience
• Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities
• Experience with chest tube removal, pericardial pacing wire removal, and temporary pacer management
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) devices, high-flow oxygen, and oxygen delivery systems
• Active Ohio nursing license or compact license
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Skills checklist pertinent to PCU specialty completed within one year
