PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, providing care to adults and geriatric patients in a dynamic acute-care setting.

Schedule and Duration

• 3x12 hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• 91-day contract beginning June 22, 2026
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday required per 13-week contract period

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 1:5 across a mixed patient population
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy and phlebotomy administration
• Blood product administration and central/peripheral line care
• Respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Care for hospitalist medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnoses
• One bed dedicated to chronic ventilator-dependent patients
• Isolation precautions and rapid response team utilization
• Float capability within your skillset as needed

Required Qualifications

• RN degree with valid Virginia state license or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or Step-Down settings required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Weekly pay: $2,016
