About this role

You will work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This is an 8-hour shift position with a duration of 89 days, starting August 31, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,960.

Your responsibilities include preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed protocols. You will operate gamma cameras and specialized imaging equipment to capture images of radioactive tracers within the patient's body, following established protocols for image acquisition and processing. You will analyze nuclear medicine images to identify abnormalities and collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Patient care is central to this role. You will prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, obtaining medical histories, and addressing their concerns. You will provide compassionate support throughout procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being while addressing any discomfort or questions.

Safety and compliance are critical responsibilities:

  • Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself
  • Maintain accurate records of radiation doses administered and monitor radiation levels in work areas
  • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel

You will maintain detailed records of all procedures performed, including patient information, radiopharmaceutical doses, imaging parameters, and image interpretations. You will generate accurate reports for inclusion in patient medical records.

Professional development is expected. You will stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology, procedures, and safety regulations through ongoing education. You will participate in training programs, workshops, and staff orientation activities as needed.
