ICU RN Job in Waimea, HI

You will work as an RN in the ICU at Kauai Veteran's Memorial Hospital, providing specialized care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This is a rotating shift position with a start date of February 25, 2026, for a 91-day assignment.

Scheduling and Hours

• Work 80 hours every 2 weeks with no exceptions
• Rotating shifts with flexibility to work any shift as needed
• Holiday pay based on hours worked on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 4-bed/4-room ICU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio depending on acuity
• When caring for two patients with one on a ventilator, a second nurse will be called in
• Coordinate and provide specialized care for surgical patients and those with serious respiratory and cardiac conditions
• Cover after-hours PACU recovery responsibilities
• Float to OB, Med-Surg, PACU, and ER to assist according to your competency level

Orientation and Requirements

• Complete hospital orientation through HR and in-service training
• Unit orientation with the nurse manager includes 1–2 day shifts and 1–2 night shifts working alongside staff RNs
• Complete an orientation and competency binder
• Emergency room experience is recommended

Compensation

You will receive $2,628 per week.
