Job Details:

• Monday through Friday shift from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, subject to change based on unit needs
• No overtime unless required based on unit needs
• Call requirements: 6 days per month, 1 weekend per month
• Work independently in the department with experience running dental and surgical equipment
• Support 4 inpatient operating rooms, 5 outpatient operating rooms, and 2 outpatient endoscopy rooms
• Prepare and deliver clean and sterilized instruments and equipment for medical examinations, surgeries, medical carts, and clinical procedures
• Sterilize, wrap, organize, and prepare medical equipment and surgical instruments into instrument trays for clinical procedures
• Lay out surgical gloves and gowns before each medical procedure
• Collect and manually clean used and contaminated medical equipment, supplies, and instruments for sorting and decontamination
• Prepare and pack decontaminated medical tools and supplies for sterilization
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment including Steris Evolution SSFP 48, Steris-Amsco 5052 Instrument Washer, and Steris-Amsco 73 Reprocessing Sink
• Examine supplies meticulously to ensure cleanliness
• Check and report any problems or issues with sterilization equipment to surgeons or supervisors
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, sterilized items, and supplies
• Reorder medical and surgical supplies, control inventory, and check expiration dates
• Remove and dispose of medical waste appropriately
• Decontamination experience required: manual, mechanical, and high-level disinfection (HLD)
• Assembly experience required: competent in care and handling of medical devices, equipment, and instruments
• General instrumentation, laparoscopic instruments, and flexible endoscope experience required
• Sterilization experience required: steam and low temperature sterilization
• Dental tray assembly experience required
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of sterile processing experience required
• Required certifications: CBSPD or CRCST/HSPA certification (must be certified for a minimum of 1 year), AHA BLS (cannot be within 30 days of expiration)
• Preferred certifications: CER (HSPA) Endoscope Reprocessor Certification, CIS (HSPA) or CSIS (CBSPD) Instrument Specialist Certification
• Experience with Arthrex, Steris, and Olympus equipment highly desired
• Pediatric experience highly desired
• Royal blue scrubs required
