RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 32-bed surgical unit providing medical-surgical nursing care
• 36 hours per week with night shifts or day/night rotation available
• RN to patient ratios: 4:1 on day shifts, 5:1 on night shifts
• On-call responsibilities required
• Must have surgical experience and experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal, and general surgery
• Expected to float to other units as needed
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, and sepsis
• Required experience with chest tubes, various tubes and drains for post-surgical patients
• Must be comfortable with drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone
• Experience required with trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry monitoring, and complex wound care
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required
• Unit shares LNA support with PCU (1:7-11 patient ratio for LNAs)
