About this role
You will work as an Ultrasound Tech specializing in obstetric and gynecologic sonography at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at $2,592 weekly pay.
Role and Responsibilities
You will perform comprehensive prenatal ultrasound examinations across all three trimesters, including detailed fetal anatomic surveys per AIUM protocol (76811). Your scope includes fetal echocardiography, high-risk obstetric imaging, and maternal fetal medicine assessments. You will also conduct specialized studies such as nuchal translucency screening, umbilical cord Doppler, MCA Doppler, cervical length measurement, amniotic fluid index evaluation, and vascular studies of the upper and lower extremities. You may be required to float to a clinic location approximately six miles away and will float within your scope of practice as staffing needs require.
Requirements
- Allied Health Professional credential
- Minimum 1 year of obstetric sonography experience
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification or CCI with OB/GYN certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated expertise in detailed anatomy scan and fetal anatomical survey
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Detailed anatomy scan experience required
- References required
- Copy of required certifications must be submitted
Skills and Experience
You must demonstrate proficiency in first, second, and third trimester scanning, fetal anatomical survey, fetal echocardiography, high-risk obstetric imaging, maternal fetal medicine, nuchal translucency screening, umbilical cord Doppler assessment, MCA Doppler studies, multifetal pregnancy evaluation, cervical length measurement, amniotic fluid index assessment, placenta previa identification, bone length measurement, abdominal circumference calculation, and inter- and intra-orbital measurements. An additional skills checklist will be required upon submission.
Contract Details
You will receive up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract. Start date is July 6, 2026.
