Registered Nurse - SICU @ University of Virginia Medical Center

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48 hour weekly options
• 13-week assignment duration
• Every other weekend and every other holiday schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with changes based on patient acuity
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Float requirements as needed per hospital policy
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Up to 40 hours of RTO guaranteed per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Must provide Nursys verification for submittal
• Work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Manage post-operative patients from emergency or complex surgical procedures
• Care for trauma patients with multisystem injuries
• Perform arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care
• Manage central lines, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive drips
• Work with specialized equipment including rapid infuser, CRRT, Camino, NICOM, and blood warmer
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
