Interventional Radiology Technologist Job in McCandless, PA

You will work as an Interventional Radiology Technologist at Southwest - UPMC Passavant in McCandless, Pennsylvania. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning August 17, 2026, scheduled for 4 days per week, 10 hours per day.

Your responsibilities include:

• Independently perform imaging and interventional procedures with sound clinical judgment and technical expertise
• Demonstrate proper patient positioning and apply appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures
• Support other departments performing general radiographic procedures as needed
• Administer contrast media in accordance with established protocols under proceduralist direction
• Maintain aseptic technique and support patient safety protocols, including time-out verification
• Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure understanding
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers and apply universal protocols during all procedures
• Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal clinical outcomes
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record system
• Ensure proper coding, tracking, network archiving, and charge entry for all examinations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in interventional radiology or related imaging specialty
• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology
• Current ARRT Certificate (or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania state certifications: PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73

You will earn $3,504 weekly. This position requires an Allied Health Professional credential and offers the opportunity to work in a major academic medical center environment.
