Endoscopy RN Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy department at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,177.

Schedule and Hours

• 5x8-hour days (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or 4x10-hour days (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• 40 hours per week guaranteed
• On-call rotation required: 4 weeknights in a 6-week schedule, plus 1 weekend day
• Must work one holiday or take call per 13-week contract period

Core Responsibilities

You will scrub, circulate, and recover patients across colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, esophageal varices and banding procedures. You will provide care in inpatient, outpatient endoscopy center, portable/bedside, and pre/post procedure settings. Patient populations span neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Key Skills and Experience Required

• Scrub experience and 2+ years of nursing experience
• Respiratory care skills: airway management, conscious sedation recovery, monitored anesthesia care recovery
• Monitoring and assessment: lab values, isolation protocols, malignant hyperthermia recognition, pain management, PCA, RASS
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 12-lead ECG obtained independently
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Specimen handling and labeling
• Equipment competency: balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, foreign body equipment, polyp snares, disposable grounding pads
• EPIC charting system experience

Certifications and Licensure

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
