Medical Lab Technician Job in Winnebago, NE

You'll work a 7-on/7-off schedule at Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System, a small rural facility. During your work weeks (Wednesday through Tuesday), you'll work 12.5-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday coverage when it falls on your scheduled work week.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform laboratory testing, analyses, and procedures for patient care
• Accessioning and ordering tests in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
• Process specimens and manage referrals to reference laboratories
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment with basic troubleshooting as needed
• Conduct routine phlebotomy procedures
• Maintain regulatory documentation and write laboratory policies and procedures
• Work across all laboratory sections on patient specimens
• Respond to codes and traumas while managing shifting priorities

What you'll need:

• Associate's degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science from an approved program
• Current certification: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or CLT(NCA)
• Minimum one year of experience preferred
• Ability to work independently, especially on weekends and holidays—this is essential
• Capacity to lift up to 10 pounds and stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
• Strong customer service skills and comfort with multitasking
