Pediatrics RN Job in Sacramento, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatrics unit at Sutter Health Medical Center Sacramento. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,531.09 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

Your primary position is in Pediatrics with willingness to float to PICU or NICU as needed. You will care for patients across most pediatric specialties, including oncology. The facility is not a trauma center. You will maintain a 4:1 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends.

Your clinical skills will include:

• Administration of blood and blood products
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Central line care and blood draws
• IV insertion and management
• NG tube insertion and management
• Wound assessment and care
• Telemetry and remote monitoring
• TPN and Lipids management
• Pediatric dosage calculations
• Seizure disorder management
• Chest tube management
• Hyperbilirubinemia care
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Requirements and Experience

You must hold a current California RN license and possess BLS and PALS certifications. You will need 2 years of pediatric nursing experience and prior travel nursing experience. Epic charting system experience is required. APHON certification is preferred.

Scheduling and Support

The position features self-scheduling with weekend coverage required. You will receive 24 hours of orientation. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
