About this role
Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for its Cardiac Cath Lab in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a first-shift position working four 10-hour shifts per week, with on-call responsibilities required. The assignment runs for 124 days, beginning October 5, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,530.
In this role, you will provide direct patient care centered on the individual as a whole person within a caring, healing-focused environment. Your responsibilities include:
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
- Collect objective and subjective data, obtaining patient health information from family or others as necessary
- Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
- Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
- Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
- Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within your scope of practice
- Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
- Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
- Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
- Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems and level of comprehension
- Facilitate the patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
- Participate actively in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
- Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through your words and actions
- Apply evidence-based practice and current research to ensure nursing excellence
