Opportunity:

Laboratory - Medical Lab Scientist

Job Details:

• Evening shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) or night shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with flexible start times if working 10-hour shifts
• Training and orientation will be on day shift for the first two weeks before transitioning to contracted shift
• Float rotation required between Methodist, University, and Riley Hospitals
• Every other weekend required along with 1 holiday if it falls within the contract
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ASCP-MLS or ASCP-BB (both certifications required)
• No MLTs will be considered
• Required skills: Specimen processing, ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, Antibody Typing (Tube Method), Crossmatch-Immediate Spin/IgG, Electronic Crossmatch, Indirect Coombs Test
• Additional preferred skills: Automated equipment, Gel Testing Method, Modify Components
• Charting system experience in Cerner preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Perform routine and specialized compatibility testing as well as preparation of blood components for transfusion
• Support transfusion needs for both pediatric and adult patients across specialty services
• Preferred patient population experience: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
• Staffing ratio: 15,000 samples
