ICU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its ICU in Wausau, Wisconsin. This is a 13-week travel contract running from July 6, 2026.

Role Details

• Work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with guaranteed 48 hours weekly pay
• Float between Medical Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU units; possible floats to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Primary patient ratio of 2:1
• Low census permitted in hour increments, typically 4-hour blocks; up to 36 hours of unbillable low census hours eligible per contract
• Optional call pickup available with 1-hour response time
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Clinical Focus

• 16-bed Medical Surgical ICU at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Primary procedures: stroke care, cerebral monitoring and drains, ventilators, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JP drains, and CRRT patients
• Potential trauma cases including logging accidents, motorcycle accidents, and snowmobile accidents depending on season
• Clinical lead on-site 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 7 days per week; CNAs and LPNs available to support

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN License required
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg and ICU experience
• Strong Neuro experience required
• BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN preferred but not required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Compensation & Location

• Weekly pay: $2,351.52
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
