Neuro ICU RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Neuro ICU. This 13-week travel assignment offers you the opportunity to provide specialized critical care in a focused neurological setting.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work 3x12 night shifts with variable day/night schedules as needed
• Care for 8-bed Neuro ICU unit including stroke, traumatic brain injury, head injury, and neurosurgery patients
• Perform comprehensive neuro assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
• Manage neuro-specific procedures including external ventricular drain (EVD) and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring bolt and drain bedside placements with neurosurgery
• Float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU units with possible assignments to other critical care and inpatient units as census requires
• Charting performed in EPIC system

Compensation and Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,462.40
• 48 guaranteed hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and holiday schedule required
• Subject to low census and on-call status with 2-hour minimum call back requirements
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification
• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 2 years experience; 1 travel assignment preferred
• Medical/Surgical ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong neuro assessment skills
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius of facility location

Additional Information

You will demonstrate ability to work independently, manage change well, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Any color scrubs are permitted. Neuro interventionalist experience is a plus. Mandatory mask wearing during flu season applies if flu and COVID vaccination are declined.
