CVICU RN Job in Charleston, SC

Join Trident Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 28, 2026, offering you the opportunity to deliver specialized critical care in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Role and Responsibilities

• Care for 1–3 ICU patients per shift with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and perform advanced hemodynamics monitoring
• Perform or assist with complex procedures including post-op day 0 CABG, Impella support, intra-aortic balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheterization, and advanced hemodynamic assessments
• Provide specialized neuro critical care for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, including EVD management, intracranial bolt monitoring (Codman), and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia protocols
• Conduct bedside shift reports for every patient at each care transition
• Perform CRRT and phlebotomy as assigned
• Administer respiratory treatments including inhalers and nebulizers
• Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry strip interpretation
• May float to the emergency department or PCU to support patient holds as needed
• Document patient care using the Meditech system and utilize i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations

Scheduling and Compensation

Work three 12-hour shifts per week on a day schedule (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), including every other weekend and holiday rotation. Weekly pay is $2,281.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 36 months of RN experience with at least one year in an ICU setting
• Prior CVICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Navy uniform required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment
• Prior experience with Meditech electronic health records
• TNCC certification and advanced critical care certifications
