About this role

Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, offering competitive compensation of $2,316.96 weekly.

Position Overview

You will assist in preparing for and performing surgical procedures by executing routine and delegated duties according to department and hospital standards. You will work across multiple surgical specialties and age groups, from neonates through geriatric patients, ensuring quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Schedule and Shift Details

This role operates on a 4x10 variable day shift schedule with start times ranging from 6:45 AM to 1:00 PM. Weekends are included in the rotation, and you will be required to provide on-call coverage every other weekend.

Clinical Responsibilities

You will perform scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties, including:

  • Cardiac and vascular procedures
  • Ophthalmology, including cataract and vitrectomy
  • Robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Ion, Globus)
  • Orthopedic spine and neurosurgery
  • Gynecology, general surgery, and ENT
  • Oral surgery, transplant, and pediatric procedures

You will operate specialized surgical equipment including the Da Vinci Xi robot, Ion robot, Globus robot, Brainlab navigation systems, and cataract and vitrectomy machines.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of surgical technician experience
  • Current CST licensure (NBSTSA)
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Preferred Experience

Community hospital experience is preferred. Background in vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, and cardiac procedures is ideal. Trauma Level I and Level II facility experience is also valued.
