ED RN Job in Big Sky, MT

Big Sky Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a rotating shift position offering $2,687 weekly for a 91-day assignment starting September 9, 2026.

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff. Your responsibilities include:

• Assess patient needs and collect comprehensive health data
• Analyze assessment findings to determine diagnoses and prioritize interventions
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for adult patients
• Plan and deliver patient and family education
• Employ strategies to promote safety and a healthy care environment
• Comply with hospital protocols for hyper-acute and acute stroke management
• Participate in 4 hours of annual stroke education
• Complete 6 hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually

Schedule

This role includes rotating shifts, weekends, and after-hours work. Hours may extend beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, and on-call availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of emergency nursing or critical care experience
• AHA BLS certification (required)
• AHA ACLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (required)
• AHA PALS or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)

Location Requirement

You must live at least 90 miles away from Big Sky Medical Center to be considered for this travel assignment.
