About this role

You will work as a Radiation Therapist on a 13-week travel contract at Novant Health Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology Brunswick. This is a 40-hour-per-week position with flexible shift options to meet clinic needs.

Shift and Schedule

  • 5x8 shifts: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (occasionally 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
  • 4x10 shifts available with staggered hours: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, both with 30-minute lunch
  • No call requirement
  • No weekend requirement
  • Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Role and Responsibilities

You will float between two clinical sites: the primary location (3 Varian linacs and one CT sim) and a sister site approximately 30 minutes away (one Varian True Beam and a Siemens CT simulator). You will always be paired with at least one other therapist—you will not work alone. MD and RN support is on-site throughout the day.

You will treat adult and geriatric patients at a 1:5 patient ratio. You will not be expected to cut blocks, perform CT sims alone, or perform dose calculations. Your role includes external beam therapy, IMRT, simulation of treatment sites, and use of imaging technology including CBCT/kV/mV imaging.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of radiation therapy experience
  • ARRT T and BLS certifications required
  • No orientation or Dimensions training needed—you start directly in the clinic
  • First-time travelers are accepted

Required Skills

Adult acute care, CT simulation, custom molds and shields, MRI, PET scan, tumor localization, beam modifying and positioning, Pinnacle (Philips), Eclipse (Varian), ARIA, Varian 21 ex/ix, lift and transfer devices, isolation precautions, radiation safety, and response team protocols.

Additional Information

Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations as part of a Storm Team or Hurricane Team.
