Physical Therapist Inpatient Job in Mattoon, IL

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient position in Mattoon, IL. This is a temporary assignment running 91 days, starting June 15, 2026, with a 5x8 day shift schedule and no weekend or on-call requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Plan and execute individualized rehabilitation programs to help patients return to higher levels of physical function
• Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA and state standards
• Evaluate mobility, strength, and current level of patient function while setting realistic, attainable goals
• Develop Plans of Care based on evaluations with both short and long-term objectives
• Utilize therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, physical modalities, gait training, and manual techniques
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, neuroscience, and pharmacology to patient care
• Implement Plans of Care on consistent schedules and adjust according to patient progress
• Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility procedures
• Develop discharge plans with appropriate home exercise programs and instructions
• Supervise physical therapy assistants in a professional and consistent manner
• Maintain open communication between therapy staff, department staff, and referral sources

Requirements

• Active Illinois Physical Therapist License
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• 1+ years of physical therapy experience
• Inpatient experience required
• Skills checklist current within 1 year
• Must live outside 50-mile radius of facility

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,592
