RN (Registered Nurse)

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 55-bed unit
• Every other weekend requirement with additional coverage as needed based on department demand
• Holiday requirement of 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year's
• Float to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients when needed
• Care for patients with joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
• Titrate drips including heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine; manage PCA pumps
• Work with tele monitoring equipment with some tele awareness required
• Utilize EPIC charting system
• Complete 2 days of unit-specific orientation
• Pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% required to continue
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Focus on hourly rounding, responsiveness, and managing multiple discharges and admissions daily
• Serve diverse patient population including Spanish, Karen, and Burmese-speaking patients
