Opportunity:
RN - PCU
Job Details:
• Float throughout two campuses to provide support where necessary
• BUMC-Tucson Campus includes approximately 16 Adult Health units with patients ranging from Observation, Med Surg, and PCU
• PCU travelers may be floated to any adult health units during their contract, with occasional floats to the ED or PACU for Adult Health patients waiting on a bed
• BUMC-South Campus is approximately a 10-minute drive from the main campus and includes four Adult Health units (one OBS, one PCU, and two MS)
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed health care team members
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching and revise care plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely and accurate manner
• Participate in shared leadership, education, and mentoring of facility personnel, patients, students, and families
• Variable work schedule required
• Previous travel experience is required
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting required, with experience within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice required
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
