RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on patient-focused care and healing environment
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Develop problem lists and prioritize patient needs based on inter-professional team input
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by team members
• Identify and address educational needs of patients according to their comprehension level
• Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders and coordinating with Case Management
• Provide input into patient/nurse assignments considering staffing, unit activity, and patient acuity
• Participate actively in unit-based activities supporting organizational values and priorities
• Participate in quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI prevention
• Maintain documentation and monitoring requirements according to hospital policies and evidence-based practice
