Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 36 or 48 hour weekly guarantee
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise
• Patient ratio of 1:4 with a 59-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
• General Emergency Department (non-trauma) environment; very large and busy with high acuity
• Stroke and STEMI certified facility
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required (hard stop - redirected if no Epic experience)
• Pyxis medication dispensing system used on unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: SANE, TNCC
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th - 12th)
• Holiday coverage expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Floating is rare but may occur within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
• Key clinical skills include: management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, chest tube management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, interpretation of ABGs, triage, intubation, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, and management of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
