X-Ray Technician Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as an X-Ray Technician at URMC Strong Memorial Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center. This is a weekend position with 12-hour shifts.

Schedule and Hours:

• Friday 10:30 AM to midnight
• Saturday 8:00 AM to midnight
• Sunday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• 36 hours preferred; 40 hours considered
• On-call responsibilities: 2–3 call shifts per month with 30-minute response time required
• Callback and holiday coverage per unit needs

Your Responsibilities:

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders before procedures
• Use x-ray equipment to take radiographic images per physician orders
• Position patients appropriately, including lifting and moving patients with limited mobility
• Handle all radiologic equipment safely while keeping patient dose as low as possible
• Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for radiologist interpretation
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper image identification

Requirements:

• 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience required
• Recent OR experience at a trauma center required
• Experience using c-arm/o-arm equipment within the past 8 months required
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required
• NYS license required or ability to obtain prior to starting
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• Ability to stand for extended periods and excellent analytical skills required

Compensation and Duration:

Weekly pay is $2,574. This assignment is 89 days, starting April 27, 2026.
