PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. You'll work the day shift, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, three days per week.

About the Role

You'll provide care in the cardiovascular progressive care unit, supporting patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery, vascular surgery, open heart procedures, thoracic lung surgery, and medical cardiology patients. Your primary patient ratio is 1:5. You may float to step-down units (1:5 ratios), medical/surgical units (1:6–7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding areas (1:6) as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage epidurals, chest tubes, and tube feedings
• Administer IV glucommander and cardiac drip management
• Operate Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and patient lifts
• Document in the Cerner EMR system
• Collaborate with the care team in a fast-paced environment

Schedule & Requirements

This is a three-day, 12-hour shift per week assignment. You must work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, day or night) per 6-week scheduling period. There are no call responsibilities, though you must be flexible to work holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Step-down unit experience
• Telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery population experience
• CVICU experience

Compensation & Details

Weekly pay is $1,681.92. Assignment begins April 15, 2026. Dress code requires all navy with white tops and navy bottoms, or all white scrubs.
