RN - Oncology

Job Details:

• Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12 shifts)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5; 1:3 for BMT on all shifts
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts must be of regular shift length
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Care for adult patients with medical oncology diagnoses including solid tumors (lung, breast, pancreatic), leukemia, and bone conditions; average patient stay of 3-5 days
• Perform IV starts, trach care, port access and central line management, and PICC line care
• Administer blood and blood products and monitor chemotherapy as applicable
• No ventilator management required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN preferred
• Required skills include: accessing and managing ports, care and management of ports, central line/implanted line care, infusion pump management, inpatient oncology experience, interpretation of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy skills, and feeding tube care and management
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Charting system: EPIC
