Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the 2C Observation Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, a 22-bed medical-surgical unit serving patients across a broad spectrum of observation-level care needs.

Your role includes:

• Managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 with a charge nurse in staffing
• Performing EKGs and drawing lab work independently
• Managing heparin drips and telemetry monitoring as needed
• Handling frequent admissions and up to 16 discharges daily in a fast-paced environment
• Floating to medical-surgical units as required
• Working with CNAs when staffing allows

Schedule and expectations:

• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirements
• Three-shift unit orientation provided

Unit specifics:

The 2C unit is heavily monitored with telemetry capabilities and central monitoring. You will not care for ventilator patients. Your documentation will be completed in MEDITECH.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required (ACLS highly recommended but not required)
• BSN degree not required
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius

What to expect:

You'll wear Caribbean Blue scrubs (top and bottom), a white top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all-white scrubs. The position runs 119 days, beginning May 11, 2026. You'll receive $2,102.40 weekly, and a cancellation policy of 12 hours every 2 weeks applies.
