About this role

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking an RN for a 13-week travel assignment on a 32-bed telemetry unit specializing in neurology, medical, and medical telemetry patients. You will work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule with 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week as specified at time of placement.

Your role includes:

  • Providing direct patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Caring for patients post-trauma, post-surgical, and with medical comorbidities
  • Monitoring patients using telemetry equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
  • Performing drug titration as required
  • Coordinating care with ancillary departments
  • Documenting in the EPIC electronic medical records system

Schedule and expectations:

  • Night shift orientation occurs during day shift; you must be available the entire week for orientation
  • Patient ratios typically range from 1:6 to 1:7 on nights (ratios not guaranteed)
  • No call requirements
  • Float assignments on a rotational basis as needed
  • Weekend hours as required by facility

Physical demands: You will stand and walk most of the shift, with frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance.

Requirements:

  • Current RN license eligible for Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
  • Competence in drug titration
  • BLS certification from AHA (required)
  • NIHSS certification (may be obtained prior to start date)
  • Preferred: 1 year of inpatient neurology experience

Additional information: Black scrubs are required. Weekly pay is $2,102.40. Assignment begins April 17, 2026.
